Remember that school closes at 12pm on Thursday 22 February, and re-opens at 7.40am on Tuesday 27 February 2018.

Our Kindergarten One children have settled beautifully and are well into the swing of our daily programme.

After half term our school day extends to 1pm, with a waiting class in the Wendy House until 1.30pm. Children not collected by 1.30pm will be taken to the Care Centre.

After the half-term break, we will have a twenty-minute lunch slot each day, from 12pm to 12.20pm.  Please see the attached list for suitable lunchbox ideas. Please note that chips, biscuits, flavoured milks and juices are not allowed. Should these appear in the lunch boxes, the children will not be able to eat/drink them at school. Below, find a list of healthy lunchbox items.

The focus of our lunch period is on healthy eating and table manners. We find that the children are often full from their snack (sandwiches and fruit eaten at 9.45am), and they do not eat too much at lunch initially -  so pack a lunchbox in accordance with your child’s appetite. We encourage the children to eat, but never force a child to eat what he doesn’t like or want. We do not feed the children – we know that they are capable of doing this themselves.

Hot lunch: You may book a hot lunch for your child, prepared by our catering partners. Please chat to Megan at Reception – she has information on the costs, booking process etc. you can book daily on an ad hoc basis, or monthly/termly.

Please check the menu (on display in the passage outside the kitchen door) to see if your child will enjoy the food. If your child is a fussy eater, a packed lunch may be a more appropriate and cost-effective option. Please note that the hot lunch is not Halaal.

Please let us know whether your child will be trying the hot lunch option. And if you have any questions about it, please come and chat to us.
