Tournament Format

Redhill High School looks forward to welcoming nine schools to showcase their skills in a fun filled and highly contested 2 days of sport at their Youth Day Sports Tournament on the 16 and 17 June.

The tournament will bring together over 25 teams to battle it out on the Netball courts and Rugby fields, in what is to be a closely contested, knock out, round robin event. Celebrate the youth this Youth Day! Don your school colours and cheer from the courtside, watching for those foot faults, or use your best Allister Coetzee impersonation to push your team over the try lines. Whatever your tactics make sure you support your team all the way to the finals where the winners will be crowned the Kings or Queens of Joburg.

Planned Activities

If the day's activities have left your energy a bit low, refill your tanks at the Night Market that follows the last sports match of the day. Whilst the spirit of competition has been the theme of the day, it’s community spirit we’re striving for at the Night Market!

Bring your friends and family for an evening of delicious food, line dancing and vibey entertainment.

Festival Programme

This year’s event is indeed an auspicious occasion for us, as we celebrate our 110th anniversary! What better way to celebrate this milestone, as well as commemorate such a decisive, courageous time in our history, than with our traditional Youth DaySports Tournament?

Sport has always been an integral part of Redhill School’s holistic approach to education; it defines the true meaning of teamwork and it imparts life skills such as a healthy competitiveness and respect for one another’s dignity and worth. Played in the right spirit, sport is capable of uniting the youth of a society as diverse as ours; played modestly, in the pursuit of excellence and brotherhood/sisterhood, sport promotes a wise maxim for life: grace in victory, dignity in defeat.
